Today was the last Intel involved activity for the year 2010 for the Singapore site called ‘Share your joy with a child’. Volunteers from Intel and some other NGO groups took 60 kids from ‘Chen Su lan home’ shopping for Christmas gifts. Each one of us was assigned to a child or teenager from the home and was assigned a budget to shop. The kids came with their gift list of things they needed and off we all went to shop.

Thank you card from Kavin

This year i had a smart young 15 year boy assigned to me. I had great 3 hours walking around Suntec getting to know Kavin, realized he was really good at his studies and had dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer. We briefly talked about his life at the home and his family that he visits on weekends, overall a very well mannered teenager. I really wish him all the very best in life and pray that he achieves his dreams. It was also good to meet up with 8 year old Daniel as well, Daniel is the kid who i shopped with last year. Before they left back for the home they all gave us a thank you card which was heart warming. Overall an afternoon well spent.
