I have never understood and probably will never understand the fascination and pre-occupation that many parents have with exams. If the only thing parents did well was to help their kids go on this journey of self-discovery and help them find their true talents, the reason for their being and trust me everyone has one. And no matter how big or small that reason was in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of their parents it was very special. If only that would happen, we would have happier people on this planet who are confident of who they are and who they want to be and of course save hours of time spent in therapy. And please don’t tell me that I don’t have kids and so I won’t understand. I may not be a parent but I definitely was a kid once. Seriously parents back off with your unrealistic expectations and pressures that you create for your kids. Give them some breathing space, they are not you and they do have their individual personalities.

One Response to Back off and give your kids some breathing space

  1. Some parents forget that time will come when their kids will also come mature men and women, and build their own goals and dreams.

I liked this article I wish these people who brought me up had someone to tell them to back off me. I could be doing what I wanted to do since my childhood. They imposed their dream career and life on me.
